Best Casting Rod Review – Under $100

Cabela’s Whuppin’ Stick® Casting Rods

This is a pretty good casting rod. I’ve been pleased so far, has good sensitivity and is not too heavy. Works well for crappie jigging, bass, and catfishing. Overall a good stick at a great price. These sticks have held up very good for the abuse I’ve put them through. Has the ability to pull big jakes without any problems. Tough enough to handle big fish and sensitive enough to feel nibbles. I would suggest wrapping the cork with tape.

All-Star® Instinct™ Series Casting Rod Review

I have two of these and for the money they are unbeatable. Very sensitive and the construction quality is outstanding. Light, well balanced and inexpensive. What more could you ask? These rods handle a Carolina rig very well and also feel very good in your hand. I use the Abu Garcia Revo SC which matches up very well with this rod. This rod is very sensitive for detecting subtle hits.

Eagle Claw Featherlight™ Casting Rod Review

This rod has a great feel. I love how sensitive this rod is, the slightest nibble can be felt. A perfect bow fishing rod and powerful enough to take large bass. Comes highly recommended for crappie and bluegill. This is a pretty powerful rod, I have landed some nice sized bass with this rod. Works well with UL spin cast rig.

Fenwick Eagle GT Casting Rod Review

I really love this rod, lightweight, sensitive, tough and I can fish all day with no problems. The one piece 6′ matched with a Team Daiwa V 103HI Casting Reel is a perfect match. These rods are very tough and able to pull a big one out of cover. These are great rods with great casting distance.

Shakespeare® Ugly Stik® Salmon/Steelhead Casting Rods

This rod has plenty of power and sensitivity. Powerful enough to land the big ones. You could easily spend a lot more money on a big name rod and have less. My only complaint is the butt of the pole is too long making it uncomfortable to cast and is a bit heavy.

Shimano Clarus Casting Rods

You’ll be hard-pressed to find a better casting rod for under $100. Simply a great rod for pike, walleyes, bass, salmon, trout, and catfish. Sensitive, quality made, great price along with the Shimano lifetime warranty, can’t be beaten.

St. Croix Triumph® Casting Rod s

Don’t let the price fool you, this is an awesome rod. If you fish on a budget but want a high-end rod, look no further. Plenty of backbone, long casting, sensitive and durable. This is one of my favorites and can handle anything crappie, bass or strippers can dish out.
